TESTING, TESTING
Testing capability shortens product development time.
One of the many ways RL Hudson saves customers time and money is by providing in-house physical testing capabilities. The company’s testing facilities allow technicians to go beyond dimensional inspection and verify the ongoing physical quality and performance of a component. RL Hudson engineering team members can quickly iterate the design based on in-house testing, eliminating delays associated with the customer’s own testing or third-party testing. “Ideally, this means the customer is testing only the good parts,” said Director of Product Development, Benny Foreman.
RL Hudson engineering testing capabilities include:
- Heat and Cold Aging/Cyclic Testing
- Pressure/Vacuum Cycling (life cycle fatigue testing)
- Chemical Soak
- Cleanliness
- Tensile/Compression Testing
- Custom Testing (designed to specification)
SHAFT SEAL & SEAL PRODUCT TESTING
- Shaft Lead Test (checks shaft for machined lead which can cause leakage of shaft seals)
- Lip Force Test (verifies adequate load on the lip due to interference and spring)
- Static & Dynamic Tests (high pressure and low pressure test heads for testing seals in representative bores with representative shafts while controlling shaft RPM, sump temperature, sump pressure and shaft to bore misalignment)
HOSE APPLICATIONS ENGINEERING
- Hose and Hose Assembly Proof and Burst Testing (hydrostatic test unit to test hose’s ability to withstand pressure)
- Hose Vacuum Collapse (tests resistance to collapse under internal vacuum)
