Whether in static or dynamic applications, off the shelf, custom designed, or made to print, RL Hudson delivers sealing products for nearly any need. We “wrote the book” on shaft seals and O-rings, and bring years of experience to every sealing project.
SHAFT SEALS Also called oil seals, shaft seals are used on rotating, reciprocating, and oscillating shafts to contain oil or other fluids and to exclude contaminants. When a standard design won’t do, RL Hudson’s product engineers can use proprietary shaft seal design software to develop the perfect seal for your application.
O-RINGS As a major supplier of O-rings in both inch and metric sizes, RL Hudson has expertise in abrasion-resistant polyurethane and in nitrile, fluoroelastomer, and in other engineered rubber materials, including those required to meet FDA and NSF standards. We have equal expertise in selecting and designing back-up rings.

HYDRAULIC CYLINDER SEALS RL Hudson offers a comprehensive line of piston seals — including U-cups, Crown Seals®, Capped T-seals and PTFE piston rings — and rod seals for hydraulic applications. Rod wipers made of nitrile and polyurethane are available in a variety of styles, including metal-clad, heavy-duty (Type D), and AN.
PNEUMATIC CYLINDER SEALS Pneumatic seals must operate with little or no lubrication. While pressures are moderate, operating speeds may be high. RL Hudson offers rod seals, piston seals, U-cups, V-cups, flange packings, and other pneumatic seals in a wide range of materials that includes PTFE and composites.
SPECIALTY SEALS are available in a nearly limitless range of designs, including extruded, adhesive bonded, metal-pluselastomer bonded, and plastic-plus-elastomer bonded.
FLAT GASKETS may be made of rubber, plastic, paper, metal, fiber, or a combination of two or more of these materials. The design possibilities are as broad as the range of applications.
