ENGINEER BENNY FOREMAN PROMOTED

Benny Foreman promotedA member of the RL Hudson engineering team since 2003, Benny Foreman was recently promoted from Product Engineer to New Product Development Manager. In this new capacity, Benny will make even better use of his extensive knowledge of injection molding, blow molding, hose design, and seal applications.

In announcing Benny’s promotion, Frank Horn, RL Hudson’s Director of Engineering, lauded Benny’s exceptional abilities in math, computers, and science, as well as his great relationships with customers and coworkers alike. “With Benny’s ability to accept direction as well as provide it for the engineering team,” said Frank, “it is my belief that this is another major step we at RL Hudson need to take in order to have the right people in the right positions so we build for the future.”

A 1995 graduate of the University of Oklahoma, Benny holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has experience as a manufacturing engineer, and he has also served as an application engineer for PTC, the company that developed Pro/E® solid modeling software. Voted “Hudson Hero 2006” by his coworkers during RL Hudson’s United Way campaign, Benny is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering through Oklahoma State University’s Tulsa campus. [Editor’s note: Benny and fellow RL Hudson engineer Bruce Sumpter are featured in each issue of Solutions; see page 4 for their latest column on Pro/E usage.]

NEW LOGO TO SEE WIDER USAGE

RLHudson new logo on boxIn our previous issue, we unveiled our new company logo, and we outlined the rationale behind the change from the maroon medallion we had used since 1999 to the new, more streamlined design. Several factors limited the broad use of our old logo on parts and boxes, including the fact that the medallion was oriented vertically rather than horizontally. This vertical orientation made applying it to many products – like hoses, for example, or small parts – extremely difficult if not impossible.

With the advent of our new logo, however, those limiting factors are now gone. The sleek, horizontal orientation makes it ideal for all types of parts, including hoses, and all sizes of boxes. As a result, you can expect to see our new logo applied to most all of our products and packaging as 2007 progresses.

“What we’re really trying to do is create a strong, recognizable RL Hudson brand,” notes Rick Hudson, RL Hudson’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “We want our customers to see our logo – whether on the sides of our boxes or printed on our parts – and immediately associate our brand with superior quality, outstanding customer service, and continuous improvement. Those are the qualities that define us as a company, and I truly think our new logo reflects our dedication to excellence and progress.”
