Company History
Rick Hudson, who at the age of 36 was already a sealing industry veteran, founded RL Hudson in Tulsa, Oklahoma, in 1980. The company began as an O-ring distributorship serving Oklahoma’s then-booming oil industry. When the boom went bust, Rick responded by diversifying his company’s product line and customer base.
A graduate of Georgia Tech, Hudson’s expertise in rubber chemistry and molding technology paved the way for the company to begin marketing custom-molded rubber products to firms across the eastern half of the United States. Soon, the majority of RL Hudson’s customers were outside Oklahoma, and it wasn’t long before custom-molded products became the company’s primary product line.
Today, RL Hudson is a global company with more than 100 employees at four U.S. locations and a substantial presence in China. We offer a comprehensive range of molded rubber and plastic products, including sealing devices, molded hoses, vibration-control products, surfacing products, and molded plastic components. With an in-house material development lab, a staff of highly skilled design engineers, and a quality assurance department equipped with the latest systems and technology, RL Hudson delivers molded rubber and plastic solutions every day to many of the world’s leading manufacturers.
