Fluid Containment and Transfer Products
Fuel…water…coolant…grease…oil…smoke…air…fumes…for fluid containment or transfer, contact RL Hudson. Whether your application calls for a custom-designed component or one made to your print, our material experts and design engineers understand what it takes to meet your most demanding fluid containment and transfer requirements.

BELLOWS A bellows is the connector of choice when the application includes significant axial, lateral, or angular movement, or a tight bend radius. They’re convoluted and are usually cylindrical, although they can also be rectangular, oval, or tapered. RL Hudson bellows are molded in rubber or plastic, and can be designed for pressure or vacuum as required.
CAPS are primarily plastic, with or without a rubber seal. Plain or vented, threaded or snap-fit, RL Hudson caps are available with features that include filters, breather elements, tethers, check valves, and prevention against over-tightening.

TANKS, reservoirs, bottles, and containers are primarily blow-molded or rotomolded plastic, in sizes from a few ounces’ capacity to several gallons. Complex, space-efficient shapes are easily produced. Do you need a drop-in assembly that includes caps, fittings, connectors, and mounts? No problem.
CHANNELS For transporting liquids or directing their flow, talk with RL Hudson about a plastic or rubber channel. Straight or curved, flexible or rigid, a channel provides easy access and trouble-free cleanout without disassembly.
CHECK VALVES Whenever fluid must flow in only one direction, a check valve is the answer. Depending upon flow rate, permissible backflow, pressure, temperature, and the nature of the fluid, a check valve may be designed in plastic, rubber, or metal, or a combination of these.
COVERS AND PLUGS Rubber or plastic, threaded or snap-fit, round or custom-shaped—RL Hudson covers and plugs fit your application. Covers may be used to protect seals and containers, and to provide secondary containment. Plugs may be inserted into unused holes or spaces to provide primary or secondary containment.
DIAPHRAGMS Pumps, valves, controls, and sensors often rely on a flexible seal that separates two fluids while allowing pressure to be transferred from one to the other. Temperature, pressure, and the properties of the fluids dictate the design, which may include fabric reinforcement and materials that range from polyethylene and PVC to fluoroelastomers.
DUCTING may be flexible or rigid, and is used for transporting vapor, fumes, or air. Typical applications include engine air intakes and ventilation systems. Ducting may be molded or fabricated, and often contains reinforcing wire.
HOSES RL Hudson radiator hoses are manufactured per SAE J20. Ethylene propylene (EPDM) rubber is often specified because of its resistance to heat, hot water, and antifreeze. Fuel filler hoses are manufactured per SAE J30, including a fuel- and oil- resistant rubber tube, fabric reinforcement, and an oil-, ozone-, and heat-resistant cover. Intake and vapor recovery hoses are manufactured per both J20 and J30 standards. Does your application require a complex, factory-molded curved shape? Call RL Hudson.
TUBES Tubes, which are usually rigid, may be extruded, blow molded, or injection molded in plastic. Some designs include a flexible section or have limited flexibility. Applications include oil fill, water fill, drain, vent, and flush. Complete assemblies, including seals, caps, covers, and connections, are readily available from RL Hudson.
FITTINGS Plastic or metal fittings, with or without a rubber seal, are the final links in the system. Whether you need threaded, push-on, or quick-disconnect fittings, or a unique custom design, call on RL Hudson.
