Quality Management
We understand that our customers depend on us to consistently provide high-quality products. That’s why our quality management system includes ISO 9001 certification, an Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process, and a well-trained, professional staff to monitor and verify product quality.
At the production stage, we proactively work with our factories to continuously improve material specifications, manufacturing methods, process controls and quality systems. We’ve published a comprehensive Supplier Quality Requirements Manual, translated into three languages, that defines specific policies, procedures and expectations for RL Hudson suppliers. Our manual is also the controlling document for the numerous quality audits conducted by our international and domestic quality personnel.
RL Hudson Supplier Quality Engineers (SQEs) monitor and audit our factories on a regular basis. Our quality technicians utilize the most advanced inspection equipment available, including video imaging, laser scanning and Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) as well as conventional measuring and gauging devices. Our materials technicians routinely verify the quality and consistency of the materials used to manufacture our products. In addition, we conduct periodic life tests to ensure products meet or exceed performance standards.
Sometimes problems do occur; it‘s how we react that sets us apart. When a quality issue arises, our experienced team quickly identifies the problem and initiates containment actions. Next, we define the root cause and work with the factory to take immediate corrective action while ensuring that our customer’s production is not affected. Finally, we implement a preventive action plan to eliminate the possibility of a recurrence.
