Bore
plugs are completely static seals used to
block off the end of a shaft.
Molded from materials including nitrile and
fluoroelastomer,
most bore plugs are custom designed. Figure
110 shows an example of a standard
bore plug. Extended plugs for use on shafts that
go beyond the housing
bore are also possible.
