Foreign
material may be any superfluous material (such
as dirt, grit, and particulate matter) embedded
in the seal (see Figure 64).
Foreign material also refers to any residual indentation
in the seal resulting from the removal of such
unwanted matter. Contamination of the material,
either prior to or during molding,
is the cause. (For maximum acceptable foreign material,
see Table 28.)
